Charity event Life Ball held in Vienna's Gothic-style city hall last Saturday welcomed A-list celebrities, including Liza Minelli, Elton John, Heidi Klum and Donatella Versace. The glamorous costume party is organized to raise money to help fight AIDS.
Special attention was paid to Donatella Versace who arrived at the party in a Mini Cooper embellished with her company’s trademark gold leaf design. The party kicked off with Versace’s fashion show that featured previously unseen designs by her late brother Gianni. "It's very emotional for me. I can't think of a more appropriate place for these to be shown than the Life Ball," said Donatella who took over the company after her brother's death in 1997.
Happily married and heavily pregnant with her second child German supermodel Heidi Klum was showing off her curves in a scarlet gown.
4000 guests partied inside the city hall while almost 35,000 people were having the all-night street party outside.
"We're all here because we want to make some noise," Liza Minelli was quoted by AP. "We have to make noise, because when (the issue) gets quiet it gets ignored."
The 13th annual event is hoped to raise as much as $1.3 million and draw attention to the problem of a Labels: Donatella Versace Presents Gianni’s Creations at Vienna Life Ball
