Lancome has announced the face of the newest women’s fragrance, which the company is currently preparing to launch later this year. The model is a Ukrainian-born Canadian Daria Werbowy.

Werbowy will be representing the Lancôme brand in Europe and in US by the end of 2005, and in early 2006. The company’s representatives declined giving further details about the fragrance.

However Marc Dubrule – CEO of Lancome International, added that Werbowy will be used for “a number of different projects”. “We have been looking for the perfect girl, and we have really been charmed by Daria,” said Dubrule in a phone interview from Paris Wednesday. “She has incredible charisma and charm and is very sweet, smart and generous. She has become a muse for the best photographers, and she walked on more than 55 catwalks in 2004 — she has amazing awareness globally. We have very extensive plans for her.”

Most likely TV and cinema ads will be produced by the company with the main role given to Werbowy. “Daria has a rare blend of presence, allure and natural elegance, and our collaboration has all the hallmarks of an enormous success for the brand” - stated Edgar Huber, president of the Luxury Products Division of L’Oréal USA.

Daria worked with W magazine, took part in the Prada and Gucci ad campaigns, and will appear in Chanel apparel ad this fall.
