The opening of Billy Elliot: The Musical on May 13 was marked by presence of British stars, including sir Elton John, who created the music for the stage version of the film, and his partner David Furnish.
John Prescott, the Deputy Prime Minister, showed up in his Jaguar to make a company to Hugh Grant and his current girlfriend Jemima Khan, who arrived in a black minidress, as well and Elizabeth Hurley, Grant's ex-partner of 14 years, who looked stunning in a red number, accompanied by her boyfriend Arun Nayar. Another stars who haven't missed the event at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre were Lulu, Chris Evans, Donna Air, Bruce Forsyth, Bob Geldof and Graham Norton.
Gordon Ramsay, Trinny Woodall, Susannah Constantine, Lee Ryan from Blue and Janet Street Porter were also present at the premiere of the musical which is praised by both theatrical critics and the audience. “I feel ecstatic, I feel relieved, I feel a sense of pride. I’m so proud to have been a part of it,” shared Elton John after the show.
